Pet Appreciation Week Starts June 7th. If there has ever been a time to appreciate our animal companions, it’s now. The last few months have been extremely trying! Pets have been there for us through it all, offering unconditional love and, of course, lots of cuddles. Here, a Dahlonega, GA vet lists some things you can do to show your appreciation.
Toys
Playing isn’t just fun for pets: it’s also great exercise for them. Buy your furry buddy a new toy. Or, if you have kids stuck at home, have them make some pet plaything. You can easily make a rope toy for Fido by cutting an old shirt or towel into thin strips, and then braiding the strips together. A box castle is also a great idea for cats, bunnies, and even pocket pets. You’ll find more ideas online.
Treats
It’s probably safe to say that all of our clients share a love of food. A yummy snack is definitely in order! You can also look into homemade treats. Just be sure to only use ingredients that are safe for your pet.
Playtime
Pets are always cute, but they are never more adorable than when they are feeling frisky. Playing is of course great fun for our animal companions. It also keeps them in shape physically, and provides them with mental stimulation. Plus, if you have kids, this is also a good way to occupy them for a while.
Veterinary Care
We know, most of our clients would much rather stay home than come into the office. However, keeping up with your pet’s health is important, regardless of what’s going on. Ask your vet to recommend an appointment schedule.
Art
Take a cute photo of your family pet. You can also experiment with different settings and effects. You can also have the kids draw a replica of their favorite pet photo. These may turn into precious keepsakes!
Cuddles
One of the best things about pets is the way they are there for us through thick and thin. Our furry friends are great cuddlers, and are always happy to hang out with us. That’s definitely something we appreciate. Enjoy some quality time with your furred, feathered, or scaled friend. Offer lots of belly rubs or forehead rubs!
